Client Feedback: A trip of a lifetime from the Kruger to the Falls

Guests of Natasha’s recently travelled to the Kruger where they experienced the very best the bush has to offer before heading on to Victoria Falls. Here they took in the wonders of the magnificent falls and surrounds both on foot and from the air, staying a some of the most luxurious lodge’s along the way. Here is their feedback:

Hi Natasha,

Thanks for arranging everything for our trip. We just got back to Jo’burg from Vic Falls. We had a brilliant trip.

Key points for your reference:

  • Airlink is a terrific airline; we had lounge access in Jo’burg and an upgrade to business class on today’s trip back from Vic Falls.
  • Kruger Shalati was excellent. The staff and food were top notch. The train hotel is a brilliant design. The garden villas (which we had) are excellent – more than enough luxury for us! we will stay there again another time.
  • Arathusa was great; we saw lions every day and 3 leopards over 2 days. The drive in and out was straightforward, although roadworks and potholes on some sections of road near Sabi Sands required careful driving.
  • Insika in Vic Falls was an excellent choice. It’s an excellent new hotel with good staff and good food. The rooms are very good. All of their restaurant recommendations were good.
  • The river cruise in Vic Falls was outstanding. We had the whole boat to ourselves. The 2 crew were excellent. The boat was luxurious and the food exceptional for a river boat.
  • We took a helicopter trip at Vic Falls with MJ Air. They are a professional and well organised business.
  • Nantwich Lodge is a stand-out. They put on a special breakfast for us this morning. The staff could not have been more helpful, the main lodge areas and rooms are very chic, the food was excellent and the game drives were all entertaining. We think Nantwich is a first class lodge operation.
  •  We probably wouldn’t stay at the Peermont Metcourt Hotel in Jo’burg again. The rooms are good, but the check in is very slow. I think City Lodge and the Intercontinental at OR Tambo Airport are better options. We had 2 nights at Hyatt House in Sandton at the start of the trip, which was good.
  • We can also recommend Avis at OR Tambo Airport. They were very professional; the BMW we rented was almost new and in excellent condition.

We are now looking forward to our next trip!

Regards,

Ben
