Introducing South America : An Emerging Market

Our consultants have spent many years knitting and sewing together idyllic African safari itineraries highlighting the most sought after wildlife destinations. Our consultants have traversed the waterlogged safari regions of the Chobe and Okavango Delta, bumbled through the Lowveld in the Kruger Park, explored the Garden Route and observed the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle – the annual wildebeest migration. They’ve become experts in their field and often combine the wild savannah with relaxing coastal adventures.

Over the years, we noticed an increase in requests for wild adventures and luxury safaris to South America. A number of our repeat guests have casually requested combination tours to see Africa’s big 5 as well as the wild jaguars of Brazil’s Pantanal region. We sent one of our consultants across borders to the bold, wild and mind-blowing continent of South America. We’re working closely with ground handlers and have put together perfect South America safari packages that weave their way through the best of beach and jungle, reflecting the perfect combination tours similar to what we offer on the African continent.

For now, we’ve focused on Brazil. Packages include honeymoon, luxury, and wild. We offer whirlwind tours and 2 week intrepid journeys to areas rich in culture, beaches and landscapes with high concentrations of wildlife.  South America is most certainly an emerging market, and in months to come, we’ll introduce the accommodation options, wildlife and various areas in South America.

The top areas we’ve included showcase the best the country of Brazil has to offer :

Iguassú Falls

The Iguassú Falls are made up of 275 separate waterfalls with each fall producing vast sprays of water. The falls are considered one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. Devil’s Throat is actually the highest continuous fall and a wonderful place to observe rainbows straddling clouds of waterfall spray and noisy green parrots fluttering across the waters. The Iguassú National Park is actually a UNESCO world heritage site and one of the most exquisite destinations to in visit in Brazil.

Rio de Janeiro, Salvador da Bahia and Itacaré

A trip to Brazil wouldn’t be complete without exploring the bustling and bold Rio de Janeiro, romantic and rustic Salvador da Bahia and the free-spirited coastal area of Itacaré.

From endless stretches of golden beaches to vibrant cultures and decadent cuisine; Rio is a pulsating city rich with heritage. Rio accommodation is usually at the world famous Hotel Copacabana Palace right on the beach. It offers stunning views, a luxurious spa and pool facilities.

There are plenty of tours available in Rio, and a few of the main attractions include a trip to Sugar Loaf mountain, scenic drives to Corcovado Hill and visits to the famous Christ the Redeemer. For the adventurous, there is an enjoyable bike tour along the famous beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema and the lagoon.

Salvador da Bahia is the home of festivals, music and unique architecture. It’s a pulsating centre of culture framed by colourful 18th-century buildings.

Itacaré is an adventure lover’s paradise and is a surfer’s paradise. The surfing waves are accessible via forest trails, and further down the beach, there are reefs and sandy beaches teeming with sea turtles. The surrounding mountains and rainforest have plenty of waterfalls and wildlife.

The Pantanal

The Pantanal is the world’s largest tropical wetland region encompassing a huge mass of land that covers a gently-sloped basin home to macaws, jaguars, capybaras, caimans, tapars and so much more. There are over 1000 species of bird, 300 mammals, 500 reptiles and thousands of fish and reptiles to spot while on safari.
