DAYS 1 – 3

Upon arrival at Victoria Falls, the remarkable “Smoke that Thunders”, you will be connected to your scheduled charter flight to Zimbabwe’s largest and most well known National Park. Here, settle in for 3 superb nights at either Davison’s Camp, or the more luxurious, Little Makalolo, where expert guides will escort you from your beautifully modified tents to the wonderfully wild Hwange National Park.

Hwange is the retreat of the elephants, a sanctuary housing one of the largest populations of these gentle giants in Africa. The park has been restored to its former glory, after it was ravaged by drought and poaching, now offering not only exceptional safaris, but also the richness of culture, history and redemption.

Highlights

  • Over 400 species of bird fill the skies in Hwange National Park
  • Renowned predator viewing, featuring the endangered wild dog
  • Waterholes attract a vast array of animals including Hwange’s famous elephant and buffalo herds.

DAYS 4 – 7

When your time in Hwange comes to an end, you can look forward to the next leg of this fantastic Zimbabwe summer tour – Lake Kariba. Depart Hwange by light aircraft, which heads to Kariba town. On arrival you will be met and transferred by road to the harbour, from where you will embark on your first Kariba boating activity, as you are ferried across the lake and taken to Changa Safari Camp.

Here, 3 nights on a full-board basis will offer you a look into the wonders of this ‘accidental’ lake as you discover the evidence of Operation Noah. Matusadona National Park is located on the shores of Lake Kariba and is suggested to offer some of the best lion viewing in southern Africa. Each of the 4 guest units are large, East African style tents, all with stunning views overlooking the lake and the magnificent Matusadona Mountains in the background.

Highlights

  • Pontoon, vehicle, and walking safaris on offer
  • Luxury tented camping on a private concession overlooking Hydro Bay
  • Wonderful privacy, seclusion and exceptional game viewing.
