The Savuti region of Botswana is characterised by the mysteriously temperamental Savuti Channel, which has been flowing for the last 3 years after an almost 30 year strike. Prior to this most recent dry spell, the erratic flowing of the channel gave temptation to the trees on the riverbanks to grow, but along with the periods of drought, these thirsty leaves dried and departed, leaving the characteristic skeleton trunks that litter the banks of the channel.
Extensive savannahs and intermittent camelthorn trees depict this precious western region of the Chobe National Park. A combination of the flowing Savuti Channel and grassland landscape provides an environment welcoming of Africa’s most sought-after predators and herbivores. The swimming pool lies just below the viewing deck and ties together the wooden structure of the lodge with the rocky hillside on which it sits.
