Etosha & Savute Safari Guest Review – by Anne-Marie Mulder

Anne-Marie recently arranged a safari for two of our favourite guests to Etosha in Namibia and Savute & Chobe in Botswana. Below is their feedback:

“Dear Anne-Marie,

It was nice to meet you and the other girls at Sun Safaris and we were sorry not to have seen Brett.

We had two fabulous safaris but were very disappointed when we arrived in Namibia and discovered that we only had four days there and because of the long drive to our camp from Windhoek we wished we’d taken a flight to the local airport at Ongava. One small complaint is that some of the camps were not really prepared for us vegetarians (Note from Sun Safaris: this despite Anne-Marie sending the requests to the various camps – very frustrating). Onguma Tree Top was very good. The chef Itzak went out of his way to accommodate us and Savute as usual was absolutely superb where our catering was concerned. On the other hand Chobe Game Lodge, a hotel with all the advantages of a full kitchen did very little for us despite knowing in advance our needs. They even thought that chicken and fish were vegetables!

Apart from that little hiccup the accommodation at all the camps was fabulous. We particularly liked Onguma Tree Top. It was rustic, but luxurious  and it was fabulous to be able to sleep with our tent flaps open and listen to the night sounds down below. Savute, as always, was our favourite and with the new river the game viewing was even better than before.

We can forward to you copies of our travelogue which Maggie is currently compiling. She’s up to part six.

Best wishes to you all, Julian and Maggie.”
