Celeste’s clients booked their own trip, but organised a Tanzania safari in Katavi & Selous . Guests stayed for 3 nights at Katavi Wildlife Camp and 3 nights at Lake Manze Camp.

Sorry for late reply but here it is. We had a wonderful time ! 3 weeks in total ! We arrived in Bujumbura where we took a taxi for Kigoma. Nearby Kigoma we visited Gombe National Park dor 2 days : Chimps !! We were the only tourists those days ( which tourist goes to Kigoma anyway ???) A very unique small NP !! No visitors only because it is so remote … but very worth visiting !!
After Kigoma, we took the bus to KATAVI NP with company ADVENTURE bus : a real adventure !! 11 hours on sandy and bumpy roads in a totally overused and completally filled up bus .. but a very nice experience ..as you know we stayed one night in a small pension nearby KATAVI.
There was a small lake next to the pension filled up with HIPPO’s. Promising for the next days. The day after the owner brought us to our camp in KATAVI. Was perfectly organized !
KATAVI WILDLIFE CAMP
- this camp was great.
- we saw only a few jeeps a day.
- fantastic masai guide and a perfect driver in the jeep !!
- we have seen all important animals except of course the rhino but that sad story you know . We saw Lions, hundreds of hippo’s and croc’s, leopard , buffalo’s, giraffes, birds, eagles, vultures.
- fantastic lodges .. Very comfortable .
- huge comfortable bed .
- superb views from our lodges (game viewing out of your bed ..) .

After KATAVI, unfortunately Veerle had to go to Kigoma.. Wim en me , we went to Selous .
LAKE MANZE CAMP
- fine camp although we prefer just a little bit more the KATAVI camp accommodation
- there we had twin beds , in LAKE MANZE no twin beds and as we are a bit tall persons
- more adventure style . but a very good camp anyway . marvelous kitchen .
- Selous NP is also very nice / as nice as KATAVI NP
- a lot of variation possible : a boat trip or a walk is fine after several days of jeep !! -> a plus for this Camp
Enclosed some pictures attached on this mail I will sent some more. After Selous we went to Zanzibar whee we found wonderfull small but very fine hostel ..After Zanzibar we went back to Bujumbura : so we visited Burundi for a few days
All together : a perfect holiday and fantastic safari days !!
