Botswana Safari – Client Feedback by Liselle Rath

Liselle,

Thanks for the email! We had a great time in Africa! We are now in Prague for a couple days before we return home, so we are still traveling. lugg

Not having our luggage was definitely a bump in the road, but good thing it’s ok to wear the same thing while on game drives! The help we got from the people at Sango was amazing! They held our flight from Maun to Sango Camp so that we could rush across the street and buy pants and jackets (we flew in in shorts and short-sleeved shirts. One of the guides at Sango even let me borrow his shoes because all I had was sandals.

All the places were great! We wished we could have spent another day or two at Sango because that was the place where we did most of our game viewing. At Oddballs, we were doing walks so we weren’t able to see as much or get as close to the animals. We still were able to see quite a bit in our short time there. The guides at Sango put in extra time, taking us out whenever we wanted. We skipped dinner one night and had a long drive which made for 12 hours of game viewing on jeep and mokoro. We would DEFINITELY recommend Sango to anyone going. The food was great, the atmosphere was very much like a family, and the guides were very knowledgeable.

Oddballs was a very different experience than Sango. Instead of 12 hours of activities, we only had 5 or 6 hours. So it felt like we weren’t spending as much time out as we would have liked. Although we understand that mokoro/walking can’t go on after dark, it would have been nice to spend a bit more time out and about and less time in our tent or on the deck. Our guide there was amazing! He taught us so much about plants, trees, and animals that get overlooked while on game drives. We got to visit his village and see where he lived.

Ilala was definitely a different experience, but it was nice to have a place to shower without running out of water or getting out in the cold. We loved walking around Victoria Falls and we did the helicopter and a sunset cruise. The breakfast was very good. A lot to choose from. We didn’t eat dinner there because it was a bit spendy and we wanted to go somewhere that had some entertainment.

All in all, we had a great time. All the places had very good beds, which was so nice after a full day. We would do it all over again (and hopefully we can someday… after we save some money!).

Thanks for all your work! Even though we planned our trip last minute, you put together a great package for us. It was so relaxing to know that all our transfers were taking place and that we didn’t have to worry about how to get from one place to the next.

Thanks again! Hopefully we will be in touch again in the not-too-far future!
