Southern Africa Safari Client Feedback – by Liselle Raath

This is the Southern Africa safari client feedback from Liselle’s recent guests. They managed to see the big five while on safari.

Hi Liselle,

We had a great trip, thank you for putting it together for us!! Yes, we saw the Big 5 – within 24 hours! – at Sabi Sands. While we didn’t see as many animals in Botswana, they were much closer as there was a hippo on our lawn at Shindi and 3 elephants by our tent at Kanana! Victoria Falls was amazing! We received advice to go to the Zimbabwe side and we did – so worthwhile! I swam in the pool at Rainbow Falls which was unbelievable and a little scary.

Regarding the accomodations, they are all fine. For details, let’s see. The Peermont Metcourt rooms are tiny but the place is very convenient. It’s attached to a large, sort of gaudy, casino called Emperor’s Palace so it was amusing to walk around while we were recouping from the flights. Not sure what the cost difference is, but perhaps the Metcourt Suites may be a nicer room?

Sabi Bush Lodge is amazing, has a well situated watering hole, great guides and trackers, yummy food, excellent service and we are so glad we spent 4 days there. 2 days at Kanana and Shinde were perfect too. Kanana has a large heronry accessible by boat with loads of storks and pelicans nesting, including chicks! Kanana has a little more features than Shinde in that the tents have fans and it’s a little larger of a camp. Shinde has beautiful landscape and we also had a great guide (named “Bee”).

Chundukwa was a really neat spot. What I should mention though is that most of the rooms do not have ensuite lavatory facilities, which is a big deal to my Mother. The manager there, Charmaine, was so kind and accomodating though and moved my Mum into the honeymoon suite so she was comfortable. The treehouses over the water with hippos and crocs below are really a treat!

Please let me know if there are any other details I can provide.

Thank you so much!!

Thank you,
Dale and Roberta
