Hi Janelle:
We are back from South Africa. I wanted you to know how much we loved
going on Safari! We went to two different camps, as you may recall. It was
a good decision. At Simbavati we were in search of white lions. Sorry to say
we didn’t see any but we sure did see everything else. The camp was quite
nice and the people were lovely. We stayed in a tent that had a huge deck
and in front of our tent was where the elephants played and the hippos
submerged! When they aren’t submerged they laugh. It is an awesome
sound.
Our second lodge was Mala Mala. Once again, awesome. Very different
from Simbavati. The service was outstanding and exquist. We had a
wonderful room overlooking the Sabi River and could see many giraffes
from our room and patio.
We did drive and it was a great experience. I’ll say that the drivers in
South Africa have no fear of speed 🙂 We saw so much. We took two
different routes, one there and another on the way back. The countryside
was beautiful. It was lovely and warm during the day. I’m glad that
we drove.
My only complaint is that the directions to each camp were not complete
and we got directions from the rental car company and then when we left
Simbavati they gave us better directions for getting to Mala Mala. One
thing for sure is that when you need help or just want to chat the South
African people are there to help. What a wonderful group of people.
What a wonderful place that you live.
Thanks for all of your help. We travelled on the Hazyview, at your suggestion,
and really had alot of fun there. Thanks for that also. We continued on to
Cape Town but it rained the last three days we were there so just enjoyed
our accommodation.
Thanks again, Janelle,
Laurie Williams
