The trip was wonderful. Each of the camps had its own charms, though Savute was probably the star – it just wasn’t possible to become blasé about eating your meals with a herd of elephants only metres away.
At Moremi, we saw ‘honeymooning’ lions twice, again only metres away, as well as elephants, zebras, giraffes, hippos, a range of antelopes and birds, and many more. The accommodation was fine, the meals were great and everyone on the staff was fantastic (as they were in every camp).
At Camp O, we had a relaxing time cruising through the reeds, seeing lots of birdlife, frogs , crocodiles and hippos – as well as stunning waterlilies and other plants. The walking safari was great. We saw warthogs, elephant, giraffes, antelopes and more – and our guide was wonderfully informative about the plant and insect life too. Again, fine accommodation, good food and simply wonderful people.
Savute was fabulous. The accommodation and meals were just that little bit better and, again, the people were absolutely fantastic. We saw leopards (four sightings in three days (one of them a mother and cub very close to the vehicle), elephants, a family of lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, hippos, many types of antelopes and birds, several mongoose species, jackals, hyenas and more.
All in all, the trip was wonderful. Thank you so much for organising it. We’ll be back.
