Anne-Marie arranged a safari for her guest to Khwai Tented Camp in Botswana. Below is Flavio’s feedback.
“Anne-Marie,
Sorry for the belated response.
I had a great experience at Khwai Tented Camp. It was an excellent recommendation and just what I was looking for. Small, intimate, comfortable but not luxurious, very hospitable staff. Game viewing was phenomenal, among the best I have ever experienced. Overall, great value for money.
The food was good but not excellent, not more or less than what I would expect for the type of camp KTC is. The one area that I think they could work on is the state of the vehicles. They only have two, which in and of itself is not a problem given the small size of the camp. But they are both old and driving conditions are obviously rough. In addition, I have been in many safaris and can tell the difference between well maintained and not so well maintained vehicles. The one I was in broke down in the bush and I had to wait there for an hour before they came with the other, which itself was in the shop for maintenance at the same time. No big deal, just a little nerve racking because it was the last day and I had to rush to the airport. I made it to the airport on time but once there and parked the second vehicle also failed to start. Had this second mishap occurred anywhere other than at the airport I could have missed my flight out of Maun and subsequent connections, which would have been a major inconvenience for me.
As I said, overall this was a great experience and I would definitely stay at KTC again.
Again, thanks very much for your help in arranging this trip.
Best regards,
Flavio”
