Liselle put together a Botswana safari & Victoria Falls itinerary for her clients who wanted an authentic African safari. Her guests stayed at Tau Pan Camp in the Central Kalahari, Kwara Camp in the Okavango Delta , Kwando Lebala Camp in the Linyanti/Savuti area and the Ilala Lodge on the Zimbabwe side of Victoria Falls.
Hi Liselle,
Thank you for your email. I got home late last Tuesday night to very hot weather and a raging bush fire threat. But that is all past now at least for the time being.
I had a wonderful time in Botswana!!! I was delighted with your choices of the three camps, all so different and so enjoyable in their own way. At Tau Pan I was the only guest which was great and I had some fascinating chats with Vasco, the guide, and the camp managers. I have never seen the Kalahari so green. It was simply beautiful. The best game viewing was undoubtedly Labala, where I saw plenty of lion, including a large male roaring beside the jeep and a leopard that we tracked all day, and of course elephant. A male and female hippo had a fight just behind the tent one night and the male killed the female’s baby, which as you can imagine, enraged her. I also saw a mongoose fighting with a python and shortly thereafter another mongoose fighting with a black mamba. I also saw the wild dogs three or four times during my stay. Altogether I was very lucky. Saw cape buffalo at Kwarra, so next time I will have to go to Chiefs Island to see rhino.
Three days was exactly the right amount of time in each camp, and I really enjoyed the variety of activities available. All the camp staff were very welcoming. I was very happy at Ilala Lodge and felt it was a great choice. Very convenent for everything!!
I will certainly be in touch with you next time, although at this stage I have no idea when that will be.
Thank you again for all your help!!!
Regards,
Terry
