Kambaku River Sands and Safari Lodge is located in the Timbavati Game Reserve and, according to Natasha’s guest Leslie, it seems to be the ideal spot for single travellers. Leslie enjoyed her time so much that next time she will bring her husband and son.

Sorry for my late response. I had the most wonderful time in South Africa. This was my 9th safari holiday in Africa and I’ve seen so many animals already in Africa, but I can say this one was one of the best safari experiences ever. I always come to Africa with no expectations. In that way you’ll never get disappointed. The sightings I’ve seen this time were fantastic! Every day was surpassed by the following day; so many elephants crossing water and playing in the water, lots of rhino, several leopards, wild dogs, lions and even a white lion!
Never thought to see the wild lion, but I did. Very special! And seeing one leopard take over the kill from the other leopard was truly amazing. For me the elephants are the most special. My best memory from this journey is definitely the elephants drinking from the pool at Kambaku River Sands. A huge herd with lots of youngsters came for a drink when we had breakfast at the lodge. It was my last day so it felt like they were coming to say goodbye.
Both Kambaku lodges were fantastic, and also the guides and trackers did a great job. Thanks again for your help with the transfer in JNB. After all the bad stories I heard I was afraid to go to the hotel by myself and a private transfer felt better. However, my flight from Hoedspruit to JNB was delayed for several hours. So I had no time left to go to the hotel and I stayed at JNB airport instead, so many efforts for nothing.
I will definitely come back again, next time with husband and son. My son is 4 years, so still a little to young to go on a safari. But in a couple of years from know we might go back to Kambaku safari Lodge. That would be perfect. Attached my favorite photo.
