A Perfect Kruger Safari
Natasha recently sent Oscar and his wife together with their friends went on a Perfect Kruger Safari to Shindzela Tented Safari Camp in the Timbavati Private Game Reserve and nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Private Reserve. Both reserves offer a traditional safari experience and share unfenced borders with the greater Kruger National Park.
Here is their feedback:
Hi Natasha,
Yes, everything worked out perfectly.
It was a very well organised trip and I am extremely happy that we stayed in the two camps that you had suggested.
I loved the rustic feel of Shindzela Tented Safari Camp and the food was exceptional with all bread and biscuits being freshly made, amazing!
Some of the drives here were quiet, but animals do not always perform when and where you want them to, it’s just a fact of life.
The water hole at Shindzela was extraordinarily busy, with large numbers of up to 30 elephants visiting almost daily and other game trying to get a turn at the fresh water which the camp provided.
So we were well entertained.
We saw African wild dogs on three drives – this was a first for me, despite many years of safaris in East Africa. We also saw two leopards in a single day, that is some achievement.
Our guide Sam and tracker Raymond were brilliant at their job and very humorous – great guys.
nThambo Tree Camp, was stunning and the drives amazing, we saw huge herds of elephant with as many as 60 – 80 individuals, we also regularly saw a vast herd of some 500 or so Buffalo.
But perhaps the most amazing thing for me, was when we saw a “crash” of nine rhinos .
I hope to return to these two camps in a year or so, that is an indication of how much I and my group enjoyed our stay.
Many thanks again for all your advice and help with planning the trip.
Kindest regards,
Oscar
