Kruger Holiday Safari

Kruger Holiday Safari

We recently heard back from Trevor, who had the daunting task of organising an African tour for his friends! Their group numbered 10 and it sounds like they had such a wonderful time here in Southern Africa. His feedback put huge smiles on our faces as we just love it when our guests have a great time and see the wildlife that is found in the bush!  The group spent some time at one of our favourite camps in the Northern Sabi Sand, Arathusa Safari Lodge. They then headed to Victoria Falls and spent some time in Cape Town.

Here is Trevor’s feedback:

Hi Michelle,

Sorry for the long silence but things have been pretty hectic at home since our return from South Africa. Getting back to the boring routine duties of driving, cooking, cleaning etc;

Firstly, a BIG thank you to Celeste and you for doing such a GREAT job with our safari accommodation, internal flights and road transfers. Everything went like clockwork, without a single hic-cup. So take a bow.

Now for the safari trip. It goes without saying that Arathusa Lodge was a great pick by Celeste. The accommodation was fabulous. They were in the process of refurbishing the lodges, but this did not affect us in anyway. It’s a pity that the lodges that have already been refurbished have been decored on the lines of hotel style accommodation, which is a real shame. I personally preferred our lodge which was more an authentic Africana type look and feel to it.

The staff were very friendly and made our stay really worthwhile. The meals served up by Travis (one of the chefs) each day was nothing short of amazing. We were even adventurous and ate the game meats of Impala, Kudu, Springbok and Crocodile. The standard of the meals were excellent and would compare favourably with that of 5 star restaurant.

The highlight of our trip was the actual safaris each day ( dusk and dawn). We saw the BIg 5 by day two. Our driver Roy, who we aptly named Tiger Woods because of the resemblance and his scout Chris, were great guys and very good at their job. There was nothing that they wouldn’t do for us.

We also enjoyed the other parts of our tour, which included the train journey from Cape Town to Jo’burg. The hop-on-hop-off bus tours of Cape Town and to a lesser extent, Jo’burg. Victoria Falls was absolutely breathtaking.

I have attached a few photos from the safari. I hope you like them.

Please pass on my comments to Celeste and once again a BIG thank you to you and her from the Chater party. I have already passed on the name of Sun Safari to a few of our friends who are contemplating an African tour in the not too distant future

Regards,

Trevor
