What a wonderful wedding and honeymoon in Namibia!
We recently helped a special couple, Mahriah and Esteban with their wedding! They wanted to get married in Namibia at the beautiful Wolvedans Lodge. Located in the south of the country in the Namib Desert, Wolvedans created a dramatic and beautiful backdrop to their wedding. The happy couple then went on to visit Etosha National Park and Tywfelfontein in Damarland on their honeymoon! They also stayed at our favourite spot in Windhoek at the start and end of their trip, Terra Africa Guesthouse. What a special trip they had.
Here is their feedback:
Hi Michelle,
Thank you! We had a wonderful wedding and trip. I attached one of my favorite wedding photos.
Overall, we really had a fantastic trip and enjoyed everything. The wedding at Wolwedans was especially fantastic and was the highlight of the great trip. We both thought that Wolwedans exceeded our expectations for both the stay and our wedding. It was so exceptionally beautiful there and such a unique place to be married. The service and food was also very excellent there. They really made us feel very special. I think it was the best hotel food I have ever had.
We really liked Terra Africa in Windhoek. The garden there was really pretty, the rooms clean, and the primary person there was a very welcoming woman. (can’t remember her name…)
We thought Etosha Safari Lodge was also very good. The rooms were nice with lovely view and most of the staff was very good.
The one place that I would hesitate to recommend was the Twyfelfontein Country Lodge. Some things were good: The setting was beautiful and we booked a guided desert elephant drive, which we enjoyed and our guide was good. But, the rooms were very hot without AC and not a very good fan. The temperature was about 35 degrees, even though it is winter time. Each night, we had mosquitos, even though there were screens on the windows. (Maybe they aren’t very tight?) The way the rooms are set up, do not allow for very good air circulation at night, so the complaint is less about not having AC and more about the rooms not being well designed for a place that doesn’t have AC. The food was also not very good. The bread was stale and the salad greens had grit in them from poor washing. The staff was also pretty unfriendly. [ Ed’s note – we have requested feedback from this lodge as these are important points]
Thank you so much for your assistance in a fantastic wedding and honeymoon.
Kind regards, Mahriah
