Hwange’s newest safari camp: Linkwasha Camp
Opened at the beginning of May, the brand new Linkwasha Camp can be found in the south eastern part of Hwange National Park. Built in the private Linkwasha Concession this camp is a classic safari camp which offers eight luxury en-suite tents and a family tent, all lookout of the waterhole. Linkwasha Camp offers fantastic year round game viewing in Hwange, with game drives going to the wildlife rich Ngamo Plains, which is particularly prolific in the summer months.
The camp has a light, open and airy design offering a luxurious safari experience coupled with exceptional service, fantastic location and wonderful game experience. The main areas are on multi levels, with the dining room, bar and lounge all over canvas and commanding panoramic views over the Hwange plains. There is a swimming pool with sun deck and various viewing decks around the grounds.
The surrounding areas can be explored by walking safari with knowledgeable local guides, allowing guests to see a different side to game viewing in Hwange. Game drives explore a wider area, tracking the big herds of elephant and buffalo as well as the predators and other plains game that live in this part of Hwange. Visitors will also be able to visit the local village and engage with the local communities to learn their traditional ways of life. Linkwasha is also a bird lovers paradise and twitchers can spend many a happy hour noting the different species, from Kori Bustard, Arnot’s Chat, Martial eagles and the summer migrants of vibrant colour like the Carmine Bee-eaters.
