Natasha Allan prepared a safari trip for her guests Roslyn and José where they visited nThambo Tree Camp in the Klaserie Reserve and Chapungu Tented Camp in Thornybush Game Reserve. Roslyn and José shared the following guest feedback:
“Hi Natasha
Sorry it has taken so long to reply.
We came back home and hit the ground running – we both work in the same company and they missed us!!
We had the most fantastic holiday, commencing with our safari – it was superb from start to finish and we saw everything except Black Rhino!!
We saw leopard on four different occasions; A cheetah eating a fresh kill!; Wild dog – watched them hunting and kill a poor young impala! Elephant of all sizes and ages! Numerous giraffe. White rhino – several times!! Hippo, crocodiles, zebras, wildebeest, kudu; Eland (recently brought into the park) two enormous herds of buffalo; Several duiker & Steenbok; Male & female nyala; Both the black-back & side-striped Jackals. Lions, a Civet and Hyena (twice!); dwarf mongoose; Lots of warthog; Tree squirrels …. the list goes on!!
Then of course we saw birds – lots of them!! We just loved being reminded of the variety of bird life in Africa – and were so spoilt as we saw so many varieties!!
Both camps were fabulous – nThambo Tree Camp was a great way to start and all concerned there were so attentive and enthusiastic. It helped that we were their only guest for the 2 nights we were there, so we had great safari drives and wonderful evening chats around the fire with Chad, his wife & Isaac!
The day we left they were expecting 8 guest in!! It was with Chad & Isaac that we followed the Wild Dogs and found our first Leopards.
Chapungu Tented Bush Camp was a little less personal, but there were other guests, so we had great communal game drives and met up with some very interesting folk from Brazil & USA. The game at Thornybush was excellent, but the safari park was quite full, so we came across other vehicles a lot more regularly! Here we saw Hyena (twice); more leopard and Lion; Nyala and buffalo – and much much more. Our game ranger, Mica and his tracker were also very experienced in finding and talking about the animals!
All in all it was a terrific experience and one we will do again and have already recommended to friends!!
From there we flew to Cape Town and had nearly 3 wonderful weeks with my sister! Spent a couple of nights in Stellenbosch, Franchoek and Hermanus, as well as enjoying all that Cape Town has to offer! A highlight was Madame Zingara’s Circus dinner – an amazing concept carried out to perfection – it was a fabulous evening!!
We then flew up to Harare and caught a lift with a group of friends to Kariba – on to Spurwing – a really fabulous way to end our holiday!
Thank you so much for your assistance with our bookings – it was so easy and all went so smoothly as a result!!
We look forward to booking through you again and in the mean time, take care and continue to provide people with this wonderful service that enables them to see just how incredible Africa is!
Kind regards and a BIG thank you once again!
Ros & Jose”
