There is no better place in South Africa than Africa on Foot, to experience a walking safari in the private reserves of the Kruger Park. The camp is located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park and is west of the Timbavati, covering 60 000 ha on either side of the Klaserie River. As there are no fence’s wildlife roams free between the major reserves that form the Greater Kruger Park.
While a safari from the back of a vehicle allows you a fantastic visual experience, going on a walking safari you will feel, smell, hear and see the pristine bushveld like the animals do.
All the walks are led by experienced and qualified game rangers and trackers, and you would expect this when walking in Big Five territory! The Big Five are lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo and are considered some of the most dangerous wild animals in Africa. To walk within a safe distance, and admire their beauty in their natural environment is a truly exhilarating feeling!
On a Kruger Walking Safaris there is infinitely more to see and experience. The trained rangers do not only focus on the big aspects of nature but also on the smaller creatures that most people miss when they only go on game drives. Being on foot makes you feel part of the environment and not removed from it. It tunes you in to all facets of nature and makes you realize what a wonderful environment we are part of.
Driving is a visual experience – a walking safari is a sensual experience!
