Liselle’s clients stayed at the Peermont Metcourt in Johannesburg, Simbavati in the Timbavati region of the Kruger and then finished off their trip in scenic Cape Town.
We had an amazing trip to South Africa. It exceeded all of our expectations and was the vacation of a lifetime. When we started our research, we were overwhelmed by the number of choices and options (length of stay, type of safari lodge, location, and price). Fortunately, we made some very good choices up front.
There are lots of companies offering what seem like the same thing. I contacted several different organizations, but ultimately worked with Liselle Raath of Sun Safaris because she was so prompt in responding and seemed to have a great deal of local knowledge. She was spectacular.
She worked closely with us as we explored different options. With the patience of a saint, she answered dozens of questions from me and my wife (often the same questions). Her advice and recommendations were excellent, and I would encourage others to seek her guidance.
She urged us to keep our stop-over in Johannesburg short, before moving on to three days at Simbavati lodge in the Timbavati reserve. Simbavati was wonderful, the perfect blend of comfort and nature. From there we moved on to Cape Town, Ms. Raath informed us of a newly initiated direct flight from the local airport to Cape Town, saving us a long and arduous transfer back in Johannesburg. We spent eight days in Cape Town, five for pleasure and three for business. For pure pleasure, five days in the Cape was about right.
Two weeks before the trip, a personal issue threatened to disrupt our plans, and Ms. Raath again worked closely with us as we explored options and alternatives. Our trip was amazing, everything that we had hoped it would be. South Africa is a spectacular country, and we met marvelous people everywhere we went. The food is superb and the wine is great, abundant, andinexpensive. What more could you want?
