Celeste assisted a guest in planning a safari to Chapungu Tented Camp in the Thornybush, Kruger Park. Below is her feedback:
“Dear Celeste,
The safari was wonderful! The staff at Chapungu were friendly, helpful and professional. The “tent” was quite comfortable although a bit cold at night. The food was delicious and there were always several items to choose from. We saw animals from the deck of our “tent” daily. One day, a large male Nyala was in the camp when we returned from our morning drive. We saw lots of game on our drives, including African wild dogs which I understand are unusual. Our Ranger and Tracker made sure we saw the “big 5” and a lot more. They were very knowledgeable about the area and plants as well as animals and birds.
The mornings and evenings were colder than we had anticipated. Fortunately there were blankets in the vehicles and we were able to purchase fleece at the lodge. Gloves would have been welcome as well.
A safari was not one of the items on my “bucket list” but I am so glad to have had the experience and would love to go again. I wish we could have had time to see more of Africa.
Some photos are attached. I hope you are able to view them. My camera isn’t fancy but we were so close to the animals that it worked out just fine.
