Sango Safari Camp opened recently in the Moremi area of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. The camp is community owned and run, and has kept things simple. At the end of the day, there are still a vast number of people looking to escape to a camp in the bush, and not a 5 star hotel in the bush.
Sango has found the perfect balance and I remember one particular game drive in this area – we saw four different male lions, mating lions, leopard and then the “usual” elephant, buffalo and a whole host of other plains game! It was an oasis full of incredible wildlife.
Below are a few of the highlights of the camp:
- Sango is an affordable option in the Moremi area of the Okavango Delta
- The magnificent Khwai River is the hub for some of the most outstanding wildlife viewing both on the Moremi and in the Khwai area
- The area is world renowned for large concentrations of elephant and buffalo
- The full range of Okavango safari activities are available, including game drives, night drives, mokoro excursions and walking safaris
