We had a great trip to South Africa. Meetings were successful and everyone treated us so warmly. We want to come back at next opportunity.
The trip to Tanda Tula was a life experience for us, one that we shall remember a long time. It was everything our daughter and son-in-law told us it would be and more. Everyone there worked so hard there to make our stay enjoyable. The accommodations were great, very comfortable, clean and well kept. The food first rate. But seeing and hearing the animals in their own habitat was the real experience. We saw the “Big Five” within the first 24 hours and much more, including giraffe, zebra and others. Our guide and tracker were terrific; they really worked hard to put us in positions to see the animals up close. We will always remember having a class of wine with them as the sun was setting on the African bush, so silent and still (except for the lions roaring across the dry river bed). We even saw the “green flash” as the sun disappeared, a natural phenomenon I’ve only seen once in my lifetime and then at sea. We would go back to Tanda Tula again if we have the chance, and we have told all our friends about it.
We are very high on South Africa. It has a lot of challenges ahead, but we think it offers a lot of hope as an example for Africa, and for the rest of the world. We learned a lot and we want to learn more. We want to come back.
