Sorry for the delay in responding. I had to leave on a business trip right after I returned from Kenya.
Our visit to Kenya was great and a very memorable experience. The safari was excellent. We had some very good sightings and only missed the rhinoceros and leopard. We’ll get those next time. While at Il Moran we heard hippos and possibly an elephant or two roaming through the camp at night. I spotted a giraffe passing through on our last night there.
On the game drives we saw almost everything imaginable. It was exciting. We watched as three cheetahs stalked a herd of wildebeast, lions mating, a topi struggling to feed and learn to walk minutes after being born (we missed the actual birth by 5- 10 minutes, but the umbilical cord was still hanging from mom) and two lionesses and a cub feeding on a recently killed zebra (we missed the actual kill by no more than 2 minutes). The Mara was breathtaking, the game drives great and the company was good also. The accommodations were excellent, it was like being in a hotel in the midst of the wild. We were right on the river but there were no mosquitos, no need for netting over our beds, etc.
