Hello Brett,
Sorry for the delay, however I wanted to provide you feedback on our recent Botswana and South Africa Safari
To begin, I must say that our experiance was incredible, exceeding all expectations! We could not have had a better trip. From the flights, weather, transfers, accomodations, game viewing and the genuine hospitality of Africa, near flawless!
We began with our experiance at Victoria Falls at the Zambezi Sun. We were greeted with a cool drink at check in and the staff was freindly. We strolled to the Falls, that were beautiful and water was at full flow! The spray was high and the sunset, our first in Africa, awesome. There were resident Zebra and Vervet Monkeys. We had coctails at the pool while watching the wildlife, then a dinner buffet that was fantastic. Food was freshly prepared, and we experieanced Kudu for the first time, not our last. Very good start to our trip.
We were promptly transfered to the Island of Siankaba for two nights. The island was peacefull, the food was again very good. The hosts were very personal and made the experiance personal for us. We visited the village next to the Islands and learned a lot of tribal, African life. We also experienced sunsets on the Zambezi River, with hippos. We awoke our last day with hippos in the river, right in front of our private challet, with coffee brought to our room at the designated time.
Transferring from Zambia to Botswana was an experience in itself. We did not realize at the time of how much African culture we were participating in. The transfers were well organized and efficient.
The next three nights were at Camp Okuti. Now we were at safari! We had a local guide, knew how to track and track he did! We saw everything, lion, buffalo, leopards, elephants, zebra, hippo and birds unlimited. We even saw a pangolin, which we learned many locals have not seen. One night an elephant was right next to our front door, and another, a close encounter with a hippo. The evenings around the campfires were personal and enjoyable. The accomodations were very roomy and comfortable. There were a few lizzards and Genets that visited us during our stay. The water experieance was great. We spent several hours on the delta. Yet another unique experiance. Birds, hippos, crocodiles and sunsets. We recommend this camp. Authentic.
Ngala Walking safari was next. I would not have ever expected our experieance to get better. But as we watched the lions stalk the herd of Zebra, the Zebra stay out of reach, the thousand or so buffalo that passed on either side of our Land Cruiser, and the hippo out of water, I shook my head in amazement. All of that after a morning safari with close encounters with rhino, buffalo and giraffe. Ngala was the highlight of our trip. This was a small intimate camp with a small intiamate staff. The best camp food possible, everything cooked on the bri. Excellent! Don’t let anyone miss this camp as we almost did!
The next two camps were Motswari Safari Lodge and Nottens Bush Camp. Both camps had exceptional lodging, food and staff. The camps were quiet, however there was a lot more safari vehicles and competition to view animals since we were at Kruger. Nottens was our last camp and again was very personable with the Nottens family members attending every meal and at the camp most of the time. There was a water hole in front of the camp that presented excellent game viewing from the deck.
We departed from the reserve airport back to Johannesburg. A great way to end our trip in style.
You did a fantastic job putting togeather an itenerary that was perfect for us. If we travel to Africa again, we will contact you. We had such a good time, I don’t think that such an experieance could be duplicated, but will always be remembered.
Thanks again and I hope this helps confirm your choices for other guest.
Best regards,
Jon and Susan Stewart
